This Privacy Policy describes how Belrald handles personal and institutional data. It applies to the Belrald platform, our marketing website and all related services.
Who we are
Belrald is a tertiary institution management platform operated by Belrald Technologies. When your institution subscribes to Belrald, we act as a data processor on its behalf — your institution remains the data controller for student, staff and academic records.
What we collect
To operate the platform, we process: (a) institutional data supplied by your institution (student records, academic data, financial records, staff data); (b) account data for users who sign in to Belrald (email, name, role, authentication metadata); and (c) usage telemetry (pages visited, features used, errors) needed to operate and improve the service.
Why we process it
We process data to deliver the services your institution has contracted for — admissions, academics, examinations, communications, finance and related modules — and to provide support, security, billing and product improvement.
Where data is stored
Belrald data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Primary data residency is configurable for institutional customers with specific regional requirements; contact us for details.
Your rights
Individuals whose data is processed by Belrald have rights under applicable laws including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the Nigeria Data Protection Act and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. Requests should be directed to your institution as the data controller, or to us at the address below.
Security
We protect data using encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, audit logs, regular backups and incident response procedures. See our Security page for details.
Retention
We retain institutional data for as long as your institution has an active subscription with Belrald, and for a defined grace period after termination to allow export. Upon written instruction, or at the end of the grace period, data is securely deleted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to institutional customers at least 30 days in advance via email and in-product notifications.
